Pete Post

Pete Post was born in N. Tonawanda New York in 1944, and raised in the small town of Derby,
New York about twenty miles west of Buffalo along the shores of Lake Erie. He graduated
from Lake Shore Central High in 1962 and Baldwin Wallace College, Berea Ohio, in 1966 with a
Bachelors degree in History and Political Science. He married his wife Irena In May 1967 and
they have two children and two grand children all residing in Texas.
Following graduation from college He applied for Marine Corps OCS, was accepted and
commenced training at Quantico with the 43rd OCC, graduating The Basic School with class
5-67. He received orders to WesPac and reported in to Golf Company Second Battalion 26th
Marines, the end of September 1967. He spent his thirteen month tour with Golf Company
serving as a Platoon Commander, Executive Officer and Company Commander, operating
primarily in Northern I Corps, including the seventy seven day siege at Khe Sanh. He is the
recipient of the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnamese Service medal w/4 Stars,
Vietnamese Campaign Medal, Presidential unit Citation, Combat Action Ribbon and two Bronze
Star Medals with Combat V. After returning to the States in November 1968 he served as a
Company Commander with 8th Marines at Camp Gieger, Infantry Training Range and
Guantanomo Bay Cuba.
Upon release from active duty, Pete commenced a civilian career in the construction
equipment rental industry joining a small Houston based Rental Company, Prime Equipment.
He was a part of the management team that grew the company from six locations to two
hundred and sixty four locations nationally, and took the Company public on the NYSE in 1997.
The last position He held was President and CEO, before leaving the Company in 2000. He
then started Post Rental of Texas consisting of two Volvo Rents Franchises in the Houston
area. He operated the company until 2011, when Post Rentals of Texas was sold to Volvo
Construction Equipment Co.
Pete has been active in industry associations serving as president of several dealer advisory
boards to major manufacturers. He served as President of the Texas Rental Association from
2009 to 2011 an association with five hundred member companies throughout the State of
Texas. He is also a member of the Marine Corps League, Mclemore Detachment 324, Houston
Texas. He currently is serving as President of the 3rd Marine Division Association Inc.
Pete and his wife Irena stay busy with family activities having two grandsons aged 6 and 8.He
is also an avid boating enthusiast and fly fisherman.
